Who else can you think of? Have any of these lived up to the hype?

I think Conor Oberst has come the closest… His lyrics are good, the music raw, and the energy is there.
However, Dylan will never be supplanted.

It’s like saying who the next Beatles are. In order to become the “next thing” you have to add something new.

Dylan was inspired by Woody Guthrie but he took it and made it his own.
